Social Development Videos Catalog Fundraiser
There are new social standards in todays world for work, home and friends. Together we will spread awareness & be the change we want to see
Before we jump in, we have a question...Did you like our video message about diversity & reaching out to loved ones during these hard times? We sure hope so & we encourage you to share it with others! Instead of putting up a sneak peek of a training video. We wanted to give all of you a message of unity. With everything that is going on it’s important to remember others & reach out and just say hi. We want you to be a part of social change with us. This creation is from our heart & we want you to know we care about all of you before we start to tell you our story. * Catch the vibe as they say* |
Funds for what?We are raising funds to support the creation of a video catalog with a focus on social development. We want to bring new life to those old '80s & '90s style training videos we all used to see in school or in the HR office of a new job. These videos will be created and distributed to community members and businesses.
We have many topics we will cover, ranging from live scenarios about microaggressions, pronouns & unconscious bias to cross-cultural communication and how to create a diverse team or home atmosphere. We will even be creating parenting videos with a focus on adult in-home consumption and rule-setting for teens. The plan is to have a diverse catalog of videos on different topics that can help connect the dots to some of life's new social standards. Our Community Partners the Caputo Group will be kicking this fund raiser off with a $5,000 boost to help make sure the production is off to a good start. |
Who are these videos for?EVERYONE!Are you also from Portland? Or maybe you’re from a City, family or industry that also needs some help developing its social structures. Maybe your family, co-workers or employees make lots of jokes about things like gender or race that make you uncomfortable. Or maybe your work environment isn't very diverse & you want to change it but you’re not sure how to or where to start.
Many of us do not know how to address these situations with our families, peers or co-workers. These videos will be a fun and entertaining way to educate your network of humans. There are so many scenarios that make us feel segregated in our own circles. We will bring you different scenarios that many of us relate to on a daily basis. We will of course include the right way to handle it and just for fun we will include the wrong way as well :) |
Why do we care?We build communities that stand together!Because caring is who we are. As a family based business we pride ourselves on developing new pathways based on what we know to be a true need in our community. We know that diversity training is needed inside and outside of our workplaces and social circles. We also know that trainings can be BORING and sometimes diversity trainings don't really hit the nail on the head or answer those questions we may not want to ask out loud.
These videos will be made not only to educate but also to entertain the audience into a positive engagement that you can’t help but enjoy as you learn. We have many topics we will cover, ranging from live scenarios about microaggressions, pronouns & unconscious bias to cross-cultural communication and how to create a diverse team or home atmosphere. We will even be creating parenting videos with a focus on adult in-home consumption and rule-setting for teens. How will we create these videos? We are so excited to create these videos for social development. As much as we want to show you a sneak peek we cannot yet :( We have however left you all with a loving message in the featured video. This message we give to all even those not in Portland, OR. The production company that created this video message with us is the same company that is partnering to bring to life this video catalog. We also have a team of actors and a stage crew ready to go. The funds raised will help us to make sure that the vision along with the quality is high in standard. It would be best for the outcome of this catalog if we could raise well over the proposed minimum budget.
Dopeafide is a women owned media marketing company and is ready to work out the production details for this creation. |

What kind of stuff do we usually do?We build communities that stand together! We are large scale event curators & organizers. We also hold a small list of clients that we do social media brand marketing for. Diversify Portland loves a good community event. Especially ones that highlight a chance for us to share free education or social skill building activities with community members.
Previous to COVID-19 we often held events and created educational panels all over Portland. We even held an annual National Cannabis Diversity Awareness Convention (NCDAC) as well as the fun-filled Diversify Portland Weekend. Creating these videos will allow us to continue building social growth with all in a safe new way. |
Here is a briefing of what the minimum budget we are seeking funding support for will be spent on:

Who are the people behind Diversify Portland?Sounds wild, but a mother and her 3 kids are the creators of this project. This family is also the original founders of the NCDAC. They hope to inspire change not just in the Portland community but also to inspire other BIPOC families from all over the U.S to start businesses and teach about generational wealth to their youth. Our family believes it is very important to teach & install care for community at a young age. We all have experience as leaders in our community and schools with teaching this subject matter to community members. By supporting this project and our family you are helping us break the systemic barriers of being low income.
Your supporting dollars will be used as capital toward building the Diversify Portland Video Catalog. Access to capital is the number one thing holding Diversify Portland and many other Black Owned businesses from coming into its full potential. Please know we appreciate the support with building this project. |
The Challenges associated with this projectThe access we have to capital to build it out is our only challenge. All other components are in place. We want the quality of our work to be high in standard and this is a challenge for us but the chance to be a part of something good for you. We think your ALL cool enough to help us reach our goal of $20,000 :)
